New VSO Schedule

New SCV VSO Schedule Starting April 17th 2023

Beginning April 17th a VSO will be assigned every Monday to the LA County Community Center located at Bouquet Canyon Road.

*Regarding the VSO from DAV (San Fernando), it will be on a walk-in basis, first come, first served. Staff will be onsite at 800am, and the VSO will arrive at 900am. We highly encourage all veterans and clients that need to see the VSO to come in early on Wednesdays, 815-830am so they can be seen early. They do have snacks, coffee, and water for all visitors, veterans, or clients that are seeking service from the VSO.

As far as the paperwork, it is highly encouraged for everyone to bring documentation for the VSO to review for any VA Claims.

Paperwork will include, if applicable:

1. DD214 (Discharge Papers),
2. Military Medical Records/Service Records,
3. Military Dental Records/Service Records,
4. VA Decision Letter,
5. VA Rating Letter,
6. VA Award Letter,
7. Private or Primary Care Provider Medical Records, and
8. Any form of paperwork related to disability compensation or records.

The Balboa VSO will see all veterans, and it will be on a first come first served basis. They are trying to see if they can secure Tuesdays for the VSO so she would be able to expand her services within the week, but it is still a work in progress. Please note that the DAV-VSO only deals with VA Claims. For Veteran Status ID Cards, and Dependent Tuition Fee Waivers, and other VA/State Benefits, the clients will need to see the MVA VSO at the Sepulveda VA on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
